Ravi Babu bags 13 B rights!

Director Ravi Babu who is riding high on his recent success 'Nacchavule' is getting ready to remake a Hindi film. It is learnt that, Ravi Babu bought the rights of latest Hindi horror flick '13 B'. This film did not show great impact at Bollywood box-office but was praised by film critics and movie lovers. Ravi Babu is very much impressed with the story of the film and decided to make this in Telugu.

It is not known whether Ravi Babu's immediate next project would be this remake or not. He already registered two titles 'Agent Gopi' and 'Amaravathi' in the past. So, we have to wait for sometime to know Ravi Babu's decision on his next project.

Director Raj Aditya (Pourudu director) who made his debut through Pourudu film died today by attempting suicide at Hotel Basera today morning. His latest film Malli Malli is releasing today. Malli Malli film also deals with the serious issue of a guy attempting suicide and then change the decision that he should live and fight back. Idlebrain.com met Raj Aditya on 19 March at Prasad labs for an interview. He looked tensed because at the same time the censoring process was going on. Manorama is the hotel’s name

Lots of people might be thinking that Manorama is the name of Charmme’s character in forthcoming thriller Manorama. But Manorama is said to be the name of the hotel around which this thriller revolves around. Charmme plays the role of an easy going girl with a special skill of lip-reading. Trisha in Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum

Victory Venkatesh on Tuesday called up to Trisha to confirm that she is going to be his next heroine in the movie titled “Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum”. Previously it was reported that Venky may opt for a bollywood beauty like Priyanka Chopra for this movie. But now strangely he is opting Trisha and has confirmed to her that she will be his beloved in his next film. Trisha who is working in three big banners in Tamil has only 1 film in tollywood opposite to Nagarjuna. It is reported that she will complete her portions in Tamil by august ending and till November is idle. So from September “Gamyam” Fame Krish is going to schedule the shooting of “Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum” and the shooting will go on till November first week.

A second heroine role is still vacant in this movie and is thinking for a bollywood babe to do a cameo.

Balaya and Nagarjuna to act together

Nataratna Balakrishna and Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna are going to be seen on the silver screen soon. Both the heroes are going to play vital roles in one film. Spanish Film Festival in Hyderabad

The first Spanish Film festival is going to takes place in Hyderabad from 20th March. MOVING IMAGES is organizing event in association with TEAMWORKS PRODUCTIONS. Six films are to be screened over the weekend at Prasads Multiplex.

Aparajita Sinha, Author and founder of Moving Images said: “The three-day cultural festival will also allow experts to sample authentic Spanish cuisine, at the Taj Deccan Hotel, who is a partner for the programme. The screenings have been scheduled at Prasads IMAX theatre from March 20- 22. Five films, selected by the Spanish embassy will be screened, which will include two directorial debuts as well. There is a press conference on 19th March to meet the Spanish delegation coming for the festival.

There are two events - the curtain raiser to the festival on 19th March at Taj Deccan and then the Festival opening at Prasads Multiplex on 20th March”.

In addition to watching the film alone, filmgoers will get a chance to mingle with directors of four of the five films scheduled for screening. Malena Alterio, actress of the second film in the series, ‘Suso’s Tower’, will also be present at the festival.

Film festivals in the City will now be cast with a country- specific focus. Audiences will be able to connect with the films, owing to the cultural similarities between the two countries.

Allu Arvind to make a film with SRK?

it is reportedly known that Allu Arvind is all set to make a film with Bollywood king khan Shahrukh Khan under Geetha Arts banner. Allu Arvind's son Allu Sirish will act as the executive producer for this flick. And now, file his “Slumdog Millionaire” star, Freida Pinto, into the rumor mill as the next Bond girl.From across the pond, Britain’s The Sun is reporting that Pinto has been invited to a screen test for the next James Bond movie, tentatively titled “Bond 23.” Their source reports, “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting ‘Quantum of Solace.’ She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.”

But apparently, in just two years, the star has grown up enough and just happened to star in one of the biggest films of the year. Oh, it won Best Picture, too. It comes as no surprise that Bond producers want Pinto in their next spy thriller. Ok, I’m biting.

However, the article continues to run with an already debunked rumor of Danny Boyle helming the next spy thriller. The source continues, “Danny Boyle is favourite to take the helm of the next movie, which would increase Freida’s chances of a starring role.”

A 9 year old loses his father, drops out of school and begins working as a musician to feed his family. Few decades later, he becomes the modern day pied piper mesmerizing the world with his music and is anointed as the Emperor of music. This, my dear readers, is not a story line for an upcoming movie but the life summary a musical genius named Dileep Sekhar better known as AR Rahman.

A young man in 1992 began his career with a movie called ROJA. No one realized that his career would become the turning point for Indian film music and trumpet its potential to the entire world. In doing so, AR Rahman became the face of Indian music to the world.

AR Rahman's entry and subsequent success encouraged many to consider the music industry as a career. Before the Rahman era, (South) Indian film industry depended on a handful of playback singers. Songs of a film were sung by one male singer and one/two female singers. It was difficult to obtain entry or enjoy continued success as a singer. One reason might have been the possibility of benchmarking against the existing singers, who had attained legendary status. Music directors at that time were simply not willing to take the risk of entrusting their compositions to new singers fearing rejection from the audience who were accustomed to hearing a particular singer.

AR Rahman splintered this myth and scattered it to the winds. He was instrumental in breaking the "single-card" concept and brought many lesser known yet talented singers into main-stream. It is jocularly mentioned that if a well known singer was not available for a song, Rahman would look around his studio and give the song to a chorus or a track singer. This trend was followed by many contemporaries and future musicians, who introduced new talent into the industry. Rahman was one of the first musicians who insisted on including names of all his orchestra team on the inlay card.

AR Rahman brought revolution in music composition by mixing traditional instruments with latest electronics sounds and digital technology. His creative talent at composing tunes coupled with his tech savvy nature brought a new innovation in film music. His involvement with a project gave the producer an upper hand to dictate terms to the distributors. Music rights were bought for unheard amounts and audio sales touched mind boggling heights.

South Indian musicians never made it big in Bollywood. Even the nation's greatest music director Ilayaraja never became a force in Hindi despite being supremely blessed. AR Rahman first broke the imaginary barrier separating South Indian film industry and Bollywood by working for the biggest directors and stars of Bollywood. He later took Indian music beyond the confines of the country becoming a global ambassador of Indian music.

AR Rahman wrote music for Bombay Dreams and Lord of the rings musical. In the year 2003, he composed music for a Chinese film titled Warriors of Heaven and Earth, which won him applause for its rich background score. Some of his well known tunes were used for Hollywood movies as well. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard "chaiya chaiya" song as the title music for Denzel Washington's Inside Man.

An Oscar for an India was impending and for some strange reason, I always felt (and hoped) that it would come from music fraternity. I had my money on two Indians to bring home the Oscar namely Maestro Ilayaraja and AR Rahman. As an Indian, I feel proud and happy that Oscar is no longer a "sour grape" for us.

AR Rahman's life is inspirational to every individual and makes him an ideal candidate to be awarded the BHARATA RATNA. How of many of us can expect to fight back from the vulnerable position he found himself at his 9th year? His journey from such an abyss like situation to an Oscar win is true testament of an individual's will power and indomitable fighting spirit. Like many Indians, I too agree that Slumdog Millionaire is not AR Rahman's best work - personally, I don’t even think it would figure in his top 10 albums. Nevertheless, the applause and celebration is befitting for a man who has inspired a billion people with a remarkable accomplishment of achieving the once impossible.

Lahari has bought the music rights of Prabhas’s stylish flick Billa for a fancy amount. Music of Billa will be available on the racks by 18 March. Anushka and Namitha play female leads. Atlast after a 1.5yrs gap prince mahesh is ready for make up nd cmng to stand before camera . Varudu in the direction of Trivikram was launched with a pooja ceremony in the office of producer Singanamala Ramesh. The regular shooting of the film is expected to take place either on 22nd or 23rd of March. Anushka is paired up with Mahesh Babu in this movie

Dons to release Billa audio!

'Young Rebel Star' Prabhas latest flick 'Billa' audio function is going to be celebrated in a grand way. As per sources, the producer of the film is planning to bring all 'Dons' of Hindi and Tamil languages for this audio function. So, we can witness Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth, Shahrukh Khan and Ajit sharing one stage in this audio launch function. The producer is aiming to show the stamina of Gopi Krishna Movies banner which is making a film after a long gap.

The makers are planning to release the audio on 14th or 15th March and the movie for Ugadi.
