Beauty Lara Dutta is likely to appear on the celluloid with Rajashekar for a song in his upcoming movie 'Satyameva Jayathe'. This film will be released with 21 prints in 21 centers (including Toronto) in North America. For the first time, a Telugu film is releasing with so many prints in USA.

raju Harwani who did audio and movie so far is entering into overseas distribution with Magadheera (title is yet to be confirmed). This film stars Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Agarwal and directed by SS Rajamouli. This film is produced by Allu Arvind who delivered biggest hits Jalsa and Ghajini (Hindi) as his last two production ventures on Geeta Arts banner. Supreme Movies is doing business with Blue Sky Cinema Inc in USA.

Supreme Raju also bought the audio rights of this film for a staggering amount. Music will be released in the first week of March and movie is slated for summer release in April 2009.

Siddhardh’s Oye for Summer
Siddhardh is getting ready with a summer release titled ‘Oye’. This film is being directed by the first timer Anand who worked for Bommarillu and a few Bollywood projects. Shamili (Anjali fame) is making her debut as heroine with this film. 40% of the shooting is complete. Universal Media is producing this film. Producer Danayya is aiming for summer release.

Art Beat Capital to produce 3 films
Art Beat Capital that produced last year’s class hit ‘Ashta Chemma’ is going to produce three film this year. Producer Ram Mohan has already announced another project with Ashta Chemma director Mohana Krishna Indraganti. There will be a sports based film introducing a new director. Ram Mohan is planning to shoot and release three films on his banner ‘Art Beat Capital’ this year.

Writer Raja Simha to direct
Writer Raja Simha who worked with Jayant and Paruchuri brothers in the past is going to make his debut as director. He will be direct ML Kumar Chowdary’s next film which launches ML Kumar Chowdary’s son as hero. Raja Simha is currently penning dialogues for Oye (Siddhardh) and Evaraina Epudaina (Varun Sandesh). He worked with Paruchuri brothers from Manasantha Nuvve to Shankar Dada MBBS. The concept of translating telugu samethalu in English for Shankar Dada MBBS was his idea.

NTR song in Tashkent
The unit of NTR’s latest film will travel to Russia to shoot the introduction song of NTR in Tashkent in the choreography of Raju Sundaram from 16 February to 22 February. VV Vinayak directs this film and Vallabhaneni Vamsi produces it. The director shot a song of NTR and Nayana Tara in Annapurna studios recently. Kodali Nani presents it on Vaishnavi Arts banner.

Magadheera music in March 1st week
Music of Ram Charan Teja’s latest film Magadheera (title yet to be confirmed) will be launched in the first week of March. Supreme music bought the audio rights by paying an astronomical amount. Rajamouli directs it and Allu Arvind produces it on Geeta Arts banner. Srihari plays a vital role in this semi period film based on the concept of re-birth. Magadheera will be releasing in the month of April 2009.

Nayana Tara banned and unbanned
It took a ban from Tamil film industry for Nayana Tara to return the 15 lacs advance she has taken a Tamil film industry. Lingu Swamy is set to direct a film and signed Nayana Tara as hero. Nayana Tara could not do the film as it got postponed and she refused to return the advance she has taken. When the producer took the help of industry, they banned Nayana Tara from acting in further Tamil films. Nayana Tara paid the entire advance amount after the ban and the industry lifted the ban on her.

Mahesh Babu to act as ‘Jessi’

Technically sound director Gowtham Vasudev Menon is set to direct a movie starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and the title ‘Jessi’ is under the consideration. The movie is set to commence its shooting after the completion of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming flick under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. Further details are awaited.

Mahesh Babu kept himself away from the camera for more than one year and hence, his fans are highly disappointed as they were unable to watch their favorite hero on the screen in 2008. Now, they are happy as their hero is set appear in two movies in 2009.

The essence of patriotism and love for country has always stood the best bet when it comes to the audience so here is one man who is trying to weed out the problems of terrorism in his own style. A form of reverse engineering is being adopted here, so let us see how he does that.

Story
Srisailam (Srihari) happens to be the bus driver of a college. But the real truth is, he is there to assassinate the vice chairman of the college, retired army man Krishnadevaraya (Krishnamraju) and he is sent by the dreaded terrorist Ashfaq Khan (Yashpal Sharma) from Kashmir. There is also a love track going on between Krishnadevaraya's son (Ram Kiran) and the pretty girl Likitha (Suhani) and she takes the help of Srisailam in winning the heart of the hero. On the onset, while this seems to be the plot, the real truth is Srisailam is no ordinary bus driver but an army major with the Indian army who has got a more deeper mission than just to kill the retired army man. What is that truth? Why Srisailam wants to bring about a change? All this forms the rest of the story.
Performance
Real Star Srihari who has come back as the lead hero could have looked at a better script and though his role had a lot of significance, it was not etched out well. Despite that, he has given a very good performance and came out with impressive effect.

Krishnamraju looked mature and elegant, Sajitha was there for the glamour, Suhani was a face in the crowd.

New face Ram Kiran brought disgust with his hair style although looked well in presenting a step in dance. He needs lot of grooming if he is serious to play lead roles. Right now, he has just a junior artiste look. Yashpal was not used to his complete caliber.

Venu Madhav was alright, Dharmavarapu's imitation of yesteryears actor Nagabhushanam failed to impress and also brought frustration. Raksha was regular. The others need no mention here.

Coming to other faculties, the director came up with a weak narration and poor presentation. The script had many loose ends and the sequence arrangement was horrendous leading to a lot of confusion and disarray of the story. The music is poor and the cinematography could not capture the locales of Kashmir to the extent required.

On a whole it is a vain attempt by the director who made several mistakes. How can Srihari's death be programmed in tune with the functioning of a bomb? How can a major kill a group of Pakistani army soldiers just by spitting liquor on them and firing? There are many faulty situations which cannot be explained here.
Analysis
Though the cast had full ammunition in the form of Srihari, Yashpal Sharma, Krishnamraju on the serious front and Venu Madhav, Dharmavarapu on the lighter front, the film failed to capture any attention. There were no gripping scenes and the depth and gravity of the plot were missing.

On the other hand, the length of the movie made things more difficult for the audience along with the unwanted songs. Srihari has been riding high with his special character roles and he should have taken care in choosing the right kind of script since it was his movie as a lead and it has been quite a while since he scored hits as a successful actor in recent times. The film has got poor technical aspects, poor storyline and direction.

It is hard for the venture to shine at the box office.

Mahesh film from 18th feb

Mahesh’s latest film in the direction of Trivikram will begin its shooting on 18 February 2009 in Rajasthan. This film will be extensively shot in Rajasthan and South Africa. Sunil Patel who worked for Hum Tum and Bachna Ae Haseeno is doing cinematography for this film. Singanamala produces it. This film was supposed to take off on 2 February, but could not as the cinematographer was severely tied up with a bollywood project.

Brahmanandam as Gachibowli Diwakar

After doing Rao Garu in Dhee, Mcdoweel Murthy in Ready and music director Jayasurya in King, Brahmanandam is all set to entertain the movie lovers with his cricketer character in Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam film. The character is called Gachibowli Diwakar. His role is integrated in the story line. KIKK is all set to release on 5 February.

Gracy Singh in a Telugu film

After a long gap Gracy Singh (Lagaan fame) is making her entry into Telugu films again. SK Basheed who produced a film in the past has turned into direction and directing a film titled Ramdev’. This film features Abbas, Akash, Sai Kiran, Gracy Singh and Archana in the main leads. Sai Kiran does a role of a sadist. Abbas and Gracy Singh play the wife and husband pair. Abbad is doing the role of Ram and Akash is doing the role of Dev. This film will go to Australia to shoot four songs. Archana is doing a glamorous role.

Sarai Veerraju from 9 February

Sarai Veerraju will be shot from 9 February onwards. This film is directed by debutant DS Kannan. Villain turned hero Ajay is doing the title role of Sarai Veerraju. There will be two female leads in this film.

Actor Tarun is going to launch a pub ‘ON’ soon in road number 2 of Banjara Hills soon. Tarun is one of the young heroes who are regular pub hoppers. Tarun always had business orientation. There were rumors that he entered into real estate when took a break from films for a year. Let’s hope that he would succeed as a pub owner.

Jayant’s film shoots in New Zealand

Director Jayant Paranji’s latest film Love 4 Ever is was extensively shot in New Zealand for 34 days. 75% of the shooting is complete so far. This film introduces Ranadeep and Mridula in the main leads. Jayanan Vencent is handling cinematography. Jayanth also produces this film on Laughing Waters Entertainment banner. Love 4 Ever is likely to release on 9 April.

Prabhas’s Darling

Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Karunakaran is titled as Darling. This film will be produced by Bhogavalli Prasad who produced Chatrapati in the past. The muhurat will be done in March and movie will go to floors from April onwards. It will be a different commercial film with love feel.

NTR is currently doing a film in the direction of VV Vinayak and it is likely to release in summer of 2009. His next film will be produced by Nallamalupu Bujji and directed by Harish Shankar (Shock fame). NTR will be doing another film with Dil Raju as producer. This film will be directed by Vamsi Paidipalli (Munna fame).
